Dominic Bromley is the creative force behind Scabetti. All of his designs produced for Scabetti are highly sculptural, whether looking at the humble amoeba candlestick or the kinetic mobile sculpture of the Drawn to the Light.

His work illustrates function following form. The dishes for example are not simply vessels to hold items but pieces of sculpture in their own right. The image above shows this to great effect with the naked orange amoeba dish taking centre stage in the home of Pret a Manger’s co-founder – Julian Metcalf (image courtesy of Vogue magazine).
In 2005 Bromley’s work progressed to the develop ment of his first purely sculptural piece. Octoform, a bold and sensual sculpture, in limited editions of just fifty in each of two unusual clay bodies, black basalt and parian. Not only are these pieces sculpted by Dominic Bromley, he also casts each one and finishes it by hand. These pieces have earned Bromley further international acclaim.

In 2006 a solid elm version of Octoform was made for the Classic X show, a biannual exhibition held in Belgium. Two of these pieces can now be seen as part of a larger commission of Bromley’s work by the Hotel Reina Victoria, a four star hotel in the centre of Madrid.
