The creative force behind Scabetti is the English design duo, Dominic and Frances Bromley. The organic forms and tactile, high quality English made materials, are characteristic of their work.
Since their company began with the launch of the Amoeba candlestick and small dish in 1999, Dominic’s sculptural forms have been an iconic addition to the world of design. 2003 saw the launch of Drawn to the Light, the birth of their second child and their move from London to Dominic’s birth place in North Staffordshire.
The introduction of Drawn to the Light and its critical acclaim gave Frances and Dominic the confidence to continue their work with bone china. "Bone china is such a beautiful material with a strong English heritage. It has different qualities exhibited in different lighting conditions. It’s translucency when cast very finely, is most appealing and has really been the inspiration for our move into lighting design."
Their most recent design, Shoal, was launched in 2007 and has resulted in bespoke commissions worldwide, including the five metre tall sculptural installation at the International Maritime Headquarters in London in 2008, endorsed by His Royal Highness the Duke of Gloucester.
All Scabetti’s work is made by hand in England, and designed by Frances and Dominic Bromley.
