Scroll Shoals, Colmans Seafood Temple

South Shields, North East England, UK

A Shoal lighting installation was chosen to compliment the large open-plan dining area of Colman's Seafood Temple. Offering quality coastal cuisine and a stunning view of the seafront, this family run restaurant has a series of scroll Shoals at its heart. Housed in the historic landmark, Ghandi's Temple on Sea Road, this installation features 732 natural English fine bone china fish with one special fish, coated in gold, added to the Shoal at the restaurant opening.

Richard Colman Ord, Restaurant owner: “I contacted Scabetti and they designed a completely custom made piece, right down to the size of the installation and the addition of a secret fish. When they came back with the final design, it was the perfect piece I’d been looking for. Shoal continues to be the star of the restaurant! We, along with all our customers, love it.”

This series of Scroll Shoals measures approximately 3.5m (12ft) long, 60cm (23") wide, 50cm (20") tall.
